Blackjack Card
In the game of blackjack, cards are used to determine the value of a hand and the outcome of the game. There are 52 cards in a standard deck, including 13 cards of each suit (clubs, diamonds, hearts, and spades) and four of each rank (2, 3, 4, 5, 6, 7, 8, 9, 10, Jack, Queen, King, Ace).
The value of a card is determined by its rank. Number cards (2-10) are worth their face value. Face cards (Jack, Queen, King) are worth 10. Aces can be worth either 1 or 11, at the player's discretion.
The goal of blackjack is to have a hand value that is higher than the dealer's hand value, without going over 21. If the player's hand value exceeds 21, they “bust” and lose. If the dealer's hand value exceeds 21, the player wins.
Blackjack is a game of chance, but there are some basic strategies that players can use to improve their odds of winning. For example, players should always “hit” on a hand value of 16 or less, and always “stand” on a hand value of 17 or more. Players should also be aware of the dealer's “upcard” (the card that is showing) and adjust their strategy accordingly.
